The Book Voyagers

Hello you all! Silvana here. 2017 has been great in terms on diversity to be honest. There has been some racist debut/books out there but there has been some amazing ones and ones that will be released soon! You might notice the culture being represented below the book title. You might also notice that some don't have it and that's because I have not read the book and don't know the rep inside it. For some I did manage to find in articles and sites, but other books are unknown to me but I do know they have the rep I am looking for, just not the specific culture. I hope you enjoy the list and add them all in your TBR!

Hello, voyagers! I bring you today a special post for me. If you don't know, I'm Mexican, I live in Mexico. I love to see Latinxs in books, especially Mexicans. I try to find books that have POC as MCs instead of the same old same old white characters you see everywhere. And when I find Latinxs, I pray it's good and that it doesn't have stereotypes, because sometimes the author isn't Latinx and I'm a bit worried the rep would be bad. Sometimes it comes out okay but sometimes it doesn't.

This is going to be a list of books that, in my opinion, have a good rep (I may have not read it but I know it has good rep) and are fun, addicting, and filled with love. I hope you guys enjoy!

Hello, voyagers. Happy International Women's Day to every single lady out there! We're currently releasing little graphics with a teaser of our favorite book written by women in our Twitter account. We're releasing them throughout the day and we just tweeted #2! You can check them out here.

ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ I'm Mexican [aka me, Silvana] and I love to see my people represented in books especially in genres that I like. It has been recently that I have seen more and more books with Latinxs as the main characters and not just the side-kick friend or the mean girl or just someone random on the street. We wanted to assemble a list of books that feature Latinxs [as main characters or love interests] in books! We hope that you like this list and you should tell us which book you find more appealing to you on the comments/on Twitter.

YOUNG ADULT

1. JUST VISITING by Dahlia Adler. Best friends, Reagan and Victoria, want nothing but leave their town behind. Roadtrips, colleges, new friends, old wounds.
2. WE ARE THE ANTS by Shaun David Hutchinson. When he was young, he was stolen by aliens and they gave him a choice: to save or destroy the world. He has 144 days to decide.
3. WHEN REASON BREAKS by Cindy L. Rodriguez. Two girls connect with the help of Emily Dickinson's words.

4. ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Two boys, Ari and Dante. Two different ways of life. And yet they begin a friendship that will change their lives.
5. SHADOWSHAPER by Daniel José Older. Sierra finds out about a surpernatural society named the Shadowshapers, who connect spirits via art. She has to fight against this evil and save her family.
6. MORE HAPPY THAN NOT by Adam Silvera. A near-future universe, a boy who wants to achieve happiness again and a procedure who will get him to forget who he really is.

7. OTHERBOUND by Corinne Duyvis. Two minds, miles and miles away. They're facing different lives, but they have to help each other to survive.
8. THE BOOK OF BROKEN HEARTS by Sarah Ockler. A cute Vargas brother helping her restore a bike. She has known the Vargas brothers were heartbreakers since the start.
9. THE WEIGHT OF FEATHERS by Anna-Marie McLemore. Two families of traveling performers have been rivals since forever. But disaster happens and she is saved by the rival family's boy.

10. THIS IS WHERE IT ENDS by Marieke Nijkamp. 54 minutes. Four teens. One boy and a gun.
11. FUTURE SHOCK by Elizabeth Briggs. A group of  teens with special skills time-travel to a future they might not want to see.
12. PERFECT CHEMISTRY by Simone Elkeles. Forced to be lab partners with Alex, Brittany's life turns upside down. A bet, family, hate-to-love.
