The Book Voyagers

Hello, voyagers! Today I bring you a very beautiful thing. It's the next M. Hollis book ~ if you know Maria, you know the Lillac Town books - fun, New Adult novellas focusing in f/f relationships. (I love them!).

But I also love retellings. And when I found out Maria was going to write one, I was excited af. I cannot wait to read this and for you all to have this on your radar, because I'm pretty sure it's going to be the best thing ever. Without further ado, here you have the cover of Ripped Pages and the blurb!
Princess Valentina lives a reasonably comfortable life, but after her mother's death, her father gets tired of taking care of her and locks her in a tower. She spends years on her own, talking to the birds on her windowsill, and reading books with adventures she will never experience. Her plans of running away are usually left for another day because she knows the vast forest surrounding her tower is too dangerous to cross alone.

Until one day, another girl passes by on her horse and Valentina wonders if she’s finally brave enough to seize her chance of freedom.

Hello voyagers! I know I haven't been writing many posts before, I'm on a slump to be honest. I can't come up with anything cool or good for me you know? It feels awful but here I am. I decided to do a single parents in romance books list if you all are interested. This idea came to me because I was talking to Olivia, Cam and Sue about how we like reading about single dads and our favorite/least favorite tropes that come with it.

Don't you just love a hero with a baby? The level of interested goes to the thousands when I found out the hero in a book is a single dad. Plus the cuteness of course. Many of the times in age gap romances (that I also love) 1/2 of the ship has kids. So definitely keep that in mind in some of these books from the list because they might be age gap too.

Also can we talk about the new dad online game that it's coming out on July? This list also came up because of the news about that game *omg* I'm sorry not sorry. Everyone wants to play it, don't lieeeee. But let's put that aside for a bit, and start with this list of books you definitely want to check out.

Note: Keep in mind many of these books I haven't read. Kind people recommended me most of them so I took some that I found that you all can enjoy and the others I have had in my TBR for a while or people I really trust have told me about it, so I assure you they are good. I'm going to do a symbol guide to help you find easily books that you would like more. If a book has one that I didn't put, totally tell me so I can rectify it!

Hello, voyagers! If you don't know the NBA Finals are happening right now. It might be over tonight but it might not??? It is so good, this is what I can tell you.

So I wanted to make a list with five books I think need to get all the attention. And we all know how basketball romances don't get half the attention that hockey books do *lmao* I hope you all check them out and enjoy them! Some I've read and the rest I have on my TBR. They all sound so good that's for sure.

1. Settle the Score / Hustle Play by Tara Frejas

SETTLE THE SCORE
College senior Garnet Figueroa lives and breathes basketball. A reliable asset to her varsity team, she is equipped with the skills and smarts to get the De La Sierra Lady Hunters closer to this year’s championship title. But Garnet soon finds out that her good friend (and long-time crush), cheerdancer Charles Crisostomo, is being cheated on by his girl, and she lets her emotions get the best of her.

Will she be able to come up with a game plan to save herself from heartbreak before the buzzer signals Game Over?

HUSTLE PLAY
Running on pure adrenaline and working with game strategies is something a basketball player like Garnet Figueroa is trained for. On the court, she is unbeatable. Off the court... that's a completely different story.

Because falling in love is trickier than a ball game, and Garnet finds herself fumbling over her feelings for Charles Crisostomo. The fact that her attention gets divided between him and rival school hard-court hottie Chris Barcelo doesn't help.

Or does it?

2. Full Court Seduction by Synithia Williams

Straitlaced conservationist Danielle Stewart is known for passionately protecting the Florida coastline. Only one man knows about the other side of Danielle, the one she keeps concealed behind prim cardigans and glasses. Back in college, Danielle shared a sizzling night with Jacobe Jenkins. Next day, he left for the NBA draft, and his talent for troublemaking has made him as infamous as his on-court skills. Now chance has thrown them together again, and Danielle sees a perfect way to boost awareness for her favorite cause.

He's older, wiser and a lot more notorious, but one thing about Jacobe hasn't changed: his deep attraction to Danielle. Supporting her conservation efforts could improve his public image—and give him a second chance with the woman he still regrets leaving behind. But the lasting kind of love takes more than a trick shot. Will he overcome his bad-boy reputation and put his heart on the line for what could be the biggest play of his life?

/Goodreads/

3. Right of First Refusal by Dahlia Adler

On the lacrosse field, Cait Johannssen gets what she wants. Off the field is another story. Because what she wants is the school's hot new basketball student-coach, Lawrence Mason, who also happens to be the guy who broke her heart in sports camp two years earlier.

But it's Cait's new roommate who's got him.

Cait and Mase agree it's best to keep their past a secret, but she doesn't expect him to completely ignore their history...or how much it'll hurt when he does. So when a friend on the basketball team asks her to pose as his girlfriend for a night, Cait can't turn down the opportunity for distraction. (Okay, and a little spite.) But what starts as an evening of fun turns into a fake relationship with more lies than the usually drama-free Cait can handle, and it's only keeping her from the one truth that's nagged at her for years: Why did Mase cut her out of his life to begin with?

And is it really too late to get him back?

/Goodreads/

4. The Deal with Love by Jamie Wesley

When filmmaker Christian Monroe runs into fiery—and frustrating—Elise Templeton at a party, the night quickly becomes the hottest one-night stand of their lives. But then her boss hires Christian to make a publicity film about Elise, and suddenly they’re in each other’s space. All day. Every day. And things are getting hotter…

Outside the bedroom, the two have nothing in common. Elise is focused solely on becoming the NBA’s first female general manager. And Christian learned long ago that being a work-a-holic—or being with one—is a recipe for disaster.

But the more Elise reveals her deepest desires and fears to Christian—something she’s done for no man, ever—the more Christian wonders how much longer he can keep his hands off the infuriating woman who rocked his world…

/Goodreads/

5. Fast Break by Regina Hart

It's 24/7 money, fame, and game on-and off-the court. But the real action is behind the scenes in Regina Hart's sizzling new pro b-ball series, where the stakes are everything and winning means playing for keeps. . .

He's a two-time MVP and three-time championship winner. He lives to be the best. And now that he's a first-time coach, DeMarcus Guinn will lead the NBA's worst team to the top his way-or no way at all. But the team's fiery franchise owner, Jaclyn Jones, is fighting him at every turn. And their unexpectedly seductive one-on-one is the kind of game time he can't resist. . .

Turning her family's team into winners is Jaclyn's only hope of saving them and her community. She's used to being in control, but DeMarcus' determination-and the way he makes her feel-are like no moves she's ever seen. And with everything they care about on the line, they'll have to play to win . . . or lose their hearts.

Hello! I am so happy and excited to share this blog post with you. It's not a surprise that you find me talking about this book. I absolutely loved it and had such a great time getting to know these characters and the story. If you had seen my little review about it, you know that there are many fun stuff happening and many tea spilling. Broody is definitely someone you want to get to know more.

But today I won't be talking about Broody (oops! sorry, my love). This post is about a very special girl that tries to make Broody understand how problematic he can act in his books and such. She's the best thing about this book. I loved her and I hope you all adore her just as much as I did.

Title: Brooding YA Hero: Becoming a Main Character (Almost) as Awesome as Me
Author: Carrie DiRisio
Illustrator: Linnea Gear
Publisher: Sky Pony Press
Release date: October 3, 2017

Synopsis:

Have you ever wished you could receive a little guidance from your favorite book boyfriend? Ever dreamed of being the Chosen One in a YA novel? Want to know all the secrets of surviving the dreaded plot twist?
Or maybe you're just really confused about what "opal-tinted, luminous cerulean orbs" actually are?
Well, popular Twitter personality @broodingYAhero is here to help as he tackles the final frontier in his media dominance: writing a book. Join Broody McHottiepants as he attempts to pen Brooding YA Hero: Becoming a Main Character (Almost) as Awesome as Me, a "self-help" guide (with activities--you always need activities) that lovingly pokes fun at the YA tropes that we roll our eyes at, but secretly love.
As his nefarious ex, Blondie DeMeani, attempts to thwart him at every turn, Broody overcomes to detail, among other topics, how to choose your genre, how to keep your love interest engaged (while maintaining lead character status), his secret formula for guaranteed love triangle success, and how to make sure you secure that sequel, all while keeping his hair perfectly coiffed and never breaking a sweat.

Goodreads | Amazon

We have today the most awesome, greatest illustrator, Linnea Gear, who created Broody's new image and illustrates the whole novel. And today in the blog we are revealing the beautiful and "not-here-for-your-sh*t-Broody" Blondie DeMeani, the one who always gets written as the mean girl, ex-girlfriend of Broody, but in fact she wants to be a main character and find love.

*looks at those pumps!!!*

ME: Linnea, how did everything start? How did you get approached to do this amazing thing?
Linnea Gear: Carrie DiRisio and her editor, Alison Weiss, asked me to help do their cover and illustrations. I was so excited they asked me to, because I've been looking everywhere for an opportunity to be able to illustrate a book. It's been one of my dreams!

ME: How has been like to draw Broody?
LG: I love Carrie and have done several commissions for her over the past couple years. Two include doing Broody's twitter icon, where everyone voted for their favorite "Broody Look," and then the "Thank You for voting" post of Broody. I can't believe I get to draw such a character, and only want to get him right since he has so many fans! His twitter is hilarious and I can't wait for everyone to see this book in all its finished glory!

Today I bring you my tour stop in the MATURE CONTENT blog tour. This book is amazing and you'll see all my thoughts about it in my review down below, but definitely get it, and if you haven't start this series, what are youuuu doooooing. The second book, Fast Connection, is currently on sale on Kindle. (They're all standalones)

Title: Mature Content
Series: Cyberlove #4
Author(s): Megan Erickson, Santino Hassell
Release date: June 2, 2017

Synopsis:

My life plan is to be brutally honest all the way to the bank. Don't believe me? I run a popular YouTube channel called TrashyZane, and my claim to fame is oversharing about every aspect of my personal life. Sometimes while tipsy. Not everyone loves my style, but I have a long history of icing out people who can't handle me. I have no time for judgmental foolishness.
Except, apparently, when it comes to Beau Starr. His channel is the polar opposite of mine, and so is he. Wholesome, inspirational, and clean-cut. Everything about him should turn me off, but when we hook up following a confrontation at a convention, my world flips upside down. Not only does Beau Starr turn me on, he uses the exact combination of dirty talk and roughness needed to turn me out.
But we still hate each other. I think.
Goodreads  | Amazon | BN | iBooks

Cyberlove series gets better with every new book. Though my favorite still is Fast Conection, Mature Content grabbed my attention really fast and I totally binge read it in one day/hours. It came really close, but Dom and Luke still have my heart. I did pull an all nighter and finished at 2 in the morning just to see that happy ending tho so Mature Content is SO GOOD.

It was so worth it.

Zane and Beau have that hate to love relationship some of us enjoy so much in romance books. They truly hate each other and even say stuff that they regret later on and get call out and apologize for it. I love seeing hate/love relationships develop because when the characters realize they love one another it's like they are so surprised and don't want to but they can't stop feeling that luuuuuv. This happens with Zane and Beau, it starts as hate sex and then turns to something that really /means something/ for them.

Also a little detail: If you're looking for Jewish MC, this book has it. Zane is Jewish and actually talks about it in some ways in the book. Zane is my favorite and can actually say that he is top #2 in my list of fave characters in this series, below Dominic. He's everything and he dresses with fishnet tights and lives his life fully.

What I love most about this series is the central theme that is social media taking part of the relationships between the characters. This time is Youtube. Both of them are Youtube stars with thousands and thousands of followers. Each of them are so different in their channels so this is why they sometimes fight in the beginning. But they both learn and grow in the spam of the whole book so it's so great to see them do that.

Me after finishing: Is there going to be another book *whispers*

Megan Erickson is a USA Today bestselling author of romance that sizzles. Her books have a touch of nerd, a dash of humor, and always have a happily ever after. A former journalist, she switched to fiction when she decided she likes writing her own endings better.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her very own nerdy husband and two kids. Although rather fun-sized, she's been told she has a full-sized personality. When Megan isn't writing, she's either lounging with her two cats named after John Hughes characters or... thinking about writing.

Santino Hassell was raised by a conservative family, but he was anything but traditional. He grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, then a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into an unlikely romance author.

Santino writes queer romance that is heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, his belief that human relationships are complex and flawed, and his own life experiences.
